I have got less than 4 GPA in my 2-1.?

Well, I was in a similar situation. I struggled and fought with my father for a year to repeat for the JEE, could not qualify in second attempt and luckily cleared the BITSAT and got admission in Electrical and Electronics Engg. I was very excited in first month of BITS and went for auditions for every club and department possible. I was popular! Then by the end of the very first month, I was framed by a miscreant who cyber bullied a girl of my batch using my account. I got beaten up by my seniors and I went into a stage of depression the following months. I stopped coming out of my room and slept for most of the time. My CGPA by end of first sem is 4.11. I was put in ACB and my parents were called. I got my laptop in second sem and I played and watched movies and did all sorts of time pass you can with a laptop. End of sem 2, my CGPA is 3.90. I tried hard, but could not come out of depression nor PC addiction. My CGPA would get better every alternate semester and go down the next sem. Finally, I graduated without much loss. I graduated 1 semester late, but I got awesome projects and an IEEE paper to fill up my CV. I still am struggling to make my life better, to achieve something. But I have faith that 1 day I will shine and that will make up for all the time I did whine. So, my advice for you is to search and find a passion that you will truly care about. Work for it. Because in the end it is your work, passion and achievements in the field of your liking that will get you somewhere. CGPA will just take you to the foot of a mountain to the ropeway's entrance. But who cares about the person riding a ropeway to the top of the mountain? Be a mountaineer or a trekker! It will be frustrating in the beginning, but the fruit is sweeter and you will go farther that the ropeway can take you!!! Remember, CGPA is just a number!!
